The press conference of the Economic and Social Council (ESC), will take place on 24 January Wednesday, starting from 10 o'clock, at the BTA Press Club.

Why the Economic and Social Council of Bulgaria supports the acceleration of Bulgaria's preparation for the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II) and then for the Eurozone? Why employers, trade unions and a third sector have agreed to take this process as an immediate national goal and a leading strategic priority of our economic policy? What are the steps?

These and other questions concerning Bulgaria's application for ERM II, will be answered by Plamen Dimitrov - ESC member and President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria, Dimitar Brankov - ESC member and Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Industry, Prof. Neno Pavlov - ESC member. The three are co-rapporteurs on the ESC opinion "Accelerating the preparations for Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone", adopted at the last plenary session of the ESC. The press conference will also be attended by Prof. Dr. Lalko Dulevski, President of the ESC.
