Yesterday, May 13, Labour, Social and Demographic Policy Committee of the National Assembly adopted the Annual Activity Report of the Economic and Social Council for 2014.
In his opening remarks Prof. Dulevski outlined that alongside all ESC acts adopted by common agreement between employers, trade unions and the non-governmental sector, ESC organised numerous consultations and discussions during the last year. “We try to intensify our activity at the regional level and to hold consultations with people, local institutions and organisations in order to reflect their concerns and proposals in our documents”, explained Prof. Dulevski. Among the priority topics for the activity of the ESC, he identified: education, regional development, the informal economy.
The view that the Economic and Social Council works consistently and its documents are useful for drafting different national policies has been outlined by the questions and assessments of members of the Parliamentary Committee. The ESC President informed the Members of the National Assembly about the effectiveness of the opinions, resolutions and consultations and explained that most of the recommendations made by the ESC have been included in legislative and other acts of executive authorities. He underlined the very good cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Ministry of Education and Science and wished a similar activities and joint initiatives with the other ministries as well. “The executive power could more actively refer to ESC for positions and opinions and ground its further political decisions in the unanimous conclusions on concrete issues of the three civil society groups represented in the ESC”, concluded Prof. Dulevski.
The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee Mr. Hasan Ademov congratulated ESC for the good work.
